The lecture journeys through the masterpieces at the heart of the book, inviting us to discover how a fold of fabric, a collar, a fan, or a hat can become a hidden passage into another world. In each artwork, clothing conceals secrets and tells the stories of those who wore it. These garments reflect the period in which they were created, as well as the changes that unfolded over time. The paintings reveal shifting attitudes towards the body, fashion, and femininity – and remind us that fashion is not a luxury, but a way of living, loving, and dreaming.

מפגש חד־פעמי במסגרת אירוע ההתרמה של בית דרור: ד"ר יערה קידר תתארח בהקלטה חיה של פודקאסט "תולדות המיניות", לפרק מיוחד המוקדש למעצב האופנה אלבר אלבז. אלבז, מהמעצבים האהובים והמשפיעים בדורו, עמד גם במרכז התערוכה "אלבר אלבז: מפעל החלומות", שאצרה יערה קידר במוזיאון העיצוב חולון. בשיחה ייפגשו סיפור חייו ויצירתו של המעצב עם מחשבות על אופנה, יצירתיות, זהות, אהבה והמורשת שהותיר אחריו. המפגש מתקיים כחלק מאירוע התרמה שכל הכנסותיו קודש לבית דרור – הוסטל תומך לבני ובנות נוער להט"ביים חסרי עורף משפחתי, המופעל על ידי עמותת אותות ובפיקוח משרד הרווחה. כל כרטיס שנרכש מסייע לבית דרור להמשיך להעניק לנערים ולנערות מקום בטוח ותומך. לאורך היום יתקיים גם הפנינג חגיגי בלובי של המרכז הגאה, עם יריד אמנים, מוזיקה ואירועים נוספים. תוכנית היום 10:00 – הקלטה חיה של פודקאסט "תולדות המיניות" עם ד"ר יערה קידר – פרק מיוחד על אלבר אלבז. 12:00 – הקלטה חיה של פודקאסט "סקס אפיל", בהנחיית לורי שטטמאור, עם לאון בור, אלעד אהרון ומיה מגנט. 10:00–14:00 – הפנינג חגיגי בלובי של המרכז הגאה, הכולל יריד אמנים, מוזיקה ודוכנים. שימו לב: מקומות הישיבה אינם מסומנים. נשמח לראות אתכם ואתכן ביום של תרבות, השראה ונתינה – אירוע שכל כולו מוקדש לעשיית טוב.

Matisse's scissors: canvas, fashion, and textiles

The works of the artist Henri Matisse and his influence on an entire generation of creators, designers, and artists leave no doubt that fashion and textiles play a huge role in his creative story. Yet still, it seems his love for textiles and fashion is a lesser-known facet of his character. Matisse grew up in a region of France that specialized in textile weaving; as an adult, he moved to Paris and filled his gray apartment with rich, printed, woven, and knitted fabrics. Through his iconic works, we will try to understand how textiles moved from the background of his composition to the center of his work and how Matisse became a stage and costume designer. His legacy has spread beyond the spaces of the museum - his bold colors, innovative textures, and captivating silhouettes can also be revealed in the designs of Yves Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood, Vera Wang, and others.
