During periods of loss and separation, women would use these delicate vessels to collect their tears, expressing the depth of their sorrow and yearning for loved ones. The tears gathered were considered a gesture of loyalty and profound remembrance. Once the tears evaporated from the container, it symbolized that the time to move on had arrived.

The chatelaine (Yaara Keydar collection) is a type of Victorian key holder that originated in the 18th century when women began attaching items like keys and pocket watches to their belts. By the 19th century, it had evolved into a practical tool and a fashionable status symbol, often designed in gold and adorned with diamonds (here ,it's made of silver and onyx). The chatelaine features a clasp that attaches to the waist, from which chains dangle, holding small objects like a knife, a tiny notebook, a pencil, and keys. During a time when men were primarily engaged in the public sphere, the chatelaine became a symbol of the power women wielded within the domestic space, representing their control and management of the household. This is reflected in its French name, "châtelaine," meaning the mistress of a chateau,or the lady of the house.
