This journey takes us through Israel, Morocco, and France, exploring her wardrobe—a unique archive of the experiences and moments that defined her remarkable life.

About:

Ronit Elkabetz was an icon, both in Israel and internationally. Through her work advocating for the rights of women and in her capacity as an artist’s muse, Elkabetz left an indelible mark on the arts of cinema, acting, and fashion. She was able to combine ideals of center and periphery, fashion and art, and create characters that have been etched into the collective social and cultural consciousness. In this lecture, Ya’ara Keydar, curator of Je t’aime, Ronit Alkabetz, will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the exhibition, which was shown in collaboration with Shlomi Elkabetz at the Israeli Design Museum in Holon. We will see how her clothes, accessories, and shoes function as time capsules, preserving moments of Elkabetz’s life, and allowing for a renewed, in-depth look at her work within the context of the world of cinema, as well as of her personal and professional life.
