Alber Elbaz: The Dream Factory

The most extensive exhibition about the Israeli fashion designer and global icon Alber Elbaz (1961—2021). Born in Casablanca, raised in Holon, and later making his mark in New York and Paris, Elbaz's extraordinary legacy has transcended borders, leaving an indelible mark on the fashion world. The exhibition was a moving and exciting tribute, celebrating his life and work, which has inspired and connected with people across the globe. Alber Elbaz dreamed and breathed fashion from early childhood. He was known not only for his unique talent for fashion and visionary approach but also for his rare ability to tell a story and move and touch people's hearts. Alber's kind personality made him deeply beloved and appreciated by many worldwide. Dreams were a driving force in Alber's life, and they took center stage in the exhibition.
The entire museum was dedicated to the inspirational and creative life of Alber Elbaz and told through the stations of his life as an ambitious journey of talent and design. The exhibition included couture models, rare archival materials, illustrations he drew as a child, his collection of porcelain dolls, photographs and objects that have never been revealed to the public, including the launch collection he designed for his brand AZ Factory and for the first time was presented in a museum.
Alber Elbaz died of Corona in April 2021. His partner Alex Koo and the brand AZ Factory initiated "LOVE BRINGS LOVE," a display of love to which 46 of the leading fashion houses in the world, including Gucci, Dior, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen, came together to create tribute models in honor of Alber. The fashion show was presented as an exhibition in the museum's upper gallery and repeated an unparalleled evening in fashion history. Next to each model were added the words of the designer who described his unforgettable meeting with Alber, and between the models floated thousands of handmade red paper hearts, reminding everyone that love brings love.
